Worst Patched Game EVER !

I own dozens upon dozens of PC games and though SC/FA is one fantastic game,it is by far the worst game I have ever encountered when it comes to patching it.
Instead of simply naming the patch like SC Patch 1.0 and then the next one SC Patch 1.2 and so on,they have put some stupid naming scheme like 3652 to 3660 or something like that and then have multiple patches with the same naming scheme which at times is so confusing.
As if there was 3651 updates before you got to this one,what the hell is wrong with the idea of fixing the game BEFORE you release it ?
Get it right and do it simple instead of trying to be different and reinvent the wheel.|||Yes there was that many updates; each individual change made by GPG counts as a new version. It makes a lot of sense that a game developed by a group of forty people over the space of a year would make several thousands of changes.
Don't be so stupid as to think that version numbers are for the consumers. It's simply a case that a lot of changes were internal ones between each major patch.|||Ya know, If you plan to troll about the way they fix things, dont bother posting here then.
Granted the numbers are a bit confusing at first, but thats how they do things. You seriously think they would release an individual update for each lil thing? Get a life.|||we dont give a sh1t.|||Version numbers ('v1.0') and build numbers ('3599') are two different things. Every software development project has build numbers but not necessarily version numbers. GPG had chosen to use their build numbers and primary indicators of the game version. I'd agree with you that its more clear to use version numbers but using build numbers only isn't unique. Stating that doing so makes the game the 'worst patched game ever' is maybe overstating it.
It might be a bit confusing but updating to the latest version is not that difficult. If you prefer manual updating (like me) you can download the latest patch from the topic in the support forum. If you want to use automatic updating you can also just launch GPGnet (the multiplayerplatform for SupCom) which checks and updates automatically.
But seriously, is this such a big issue?|||I have NEVER had any problem patching SupCom1 or FA, this includes owning both games since release and many complete re-installs.
Especially with a thread like this having been stickied;
All SupCom and SupCom FA Patches+GPGNet
