Stuttering occurs when Mouse Cursor is moved

[:1]Hey, hopefully someone can shed some light on this...
As the thread title suggests, I'm having techincal issues with Supreme Commander 2.
During the menu screens / game play, my mouse cursor will flicker when the mouse is moved and each flicker will cause the game to stutter. Scrolling during gameplay with the keys does not cause the game to stutter, and even with all settings on low, v-sync on and off this still happens.
If I do not move the mouse, I get a steady high FPS. Even during combat, scrolling with keyboard etc.
This is making the game unplayable, especially in multiplayer. Playing with a friend causes both mine and his systems to stutter when I move the mouse! His system however, does not have this mouse issue.
I've followed several old guides on how to deal with mouse flickering in games.
I've tried:
[*] Disabling Mouse Trails.
[*] Changing the Pointer Scheme to default.
[*] V-Sync On/Off with all Graphical Settings (high/med/low) including Windowed Mode.
[*] Reinstalling the latest DirectX, Mouse Drivers, Display Drivers.

Is there any other things I can try to fix this issue? Supreme Commander looks good, but I can't play without moving the mouse!

hmmz. lets extend that to include any widget software that draws on the desktop at all. what widgets, and dashboards do you use?|||Can you temporarily disable your SLI and run off of one card to see if the problem goes away? I suspect that the SLI component of your Nvidia drivers is not handling the hardware cursor very gracefully.

Basic setup: Win7 x64, 2 monitors (1920x1200, 1600x1200), E8400 CPU, ATI HD 4850 graphics card, 8GB RAM.
I have the latest graphics drivers and Windows updates, and have no special mouse drivers installed. The problem occurs irrespective of whether I use both monitors in SupCom - even if I use one monitor at 1024x768, it happens.
In Windows and in other games, the mouse is fine. Deleting the .pref file does not help.
Has anyone got any ideas?
Thanks!|||Please try temporarily disabling your Steam Overlay and report back if anything changes.
This can be done from the Steam Library by right-clicking Supreme Commander 2 > Properties > General Tab > Uncheck "Enable Steam Community In-Game".

I had updated my ATI display drivers using Windows Update, and got the latest from that route.
To try something new, I went to AMD's web site and got the latest drivers from there - significantly newer than the ones I got from Windows Update, and the system now works flawlessly.
Hope this helps someone else.|||amertner|||Same issue,

updating drivers now, saw they were 10.8, current is 10.9|||Hi all, I just upgraded my hardware with a new GPU (gtx480) and after that Supreme Commander 2 and Forged Allinace showed up the same issue: after some time of play (it can be five minutes like twenty) the pointer disappear and if I try to move it the game begin to lag heavily (something like four sec. for just touching the mouse). Alt+Tab to try some trick doesent work, cursor is still invisible even on the desktop, but I can press buttons and if I set the PC in standby and turn it on again the pointer come back and the game keeps running fine (until the next issue). It's a similar problem to McNastyJNR's one, and no one of the posted solutions work. For me too if the bug happens in multiplayer, the other players are affected too.
Here the tricks I tryed:
[*] Disabling Mouse Trails.
[*] Changing the Pointer Scheme to default.
[*] V-Sync On/Off with all Graphical Settings (high/med/low)
[*] Reinstalling the latest Display Drivers (275.33) and turning to previous version (270.61).
[*] Reinstalling Forged Allinace
