3.0 processors

[:1]i plan on getting supcom2 sometime after may 24th im looking at buying a 3.0 processor as my current one is only 2.2 anyone know any not to pricy 3.0s out there me not good with computers|||What type of motherboard do you have? We can't advise you on CPUs if we don't know what mainboard you have. You can download and run CPU-Z, that will tell you lots of info about your system.|||X-Cubed|||PlazmaZ5|||http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... _-19103772

will these do? yes i am cheap dont judge me im 13.|||I suppose the processor is a bit old, and not the most energy-efficient, but I'd say it's ok for its price. Sorry but I'm no expert with AMD CPUs. That 5450 should be good, good enough that the processor will most likely be the bottleneck (the video card is too good for the processor). Oh, and get a good cooler for the processor; it's not included in the package. Make sure you have at least 2 GB of RAM.|||i have a 5450 in my home theater PC, it is not good enough to run games(but its great for playing movies with lossless audio :)
This is a great place to start, it breaks down the best processors and video cards based on how much money you have to spend.

seems more interesting than the other one|||it is still a 5450, which is not for video games.
You want either an AMD 4670( $65+ shipping)

or an NVidia 9800 GT ($80 + shipping)

Since you are buying on a small budget, you might look at ebay. you can probably find an Nvidia 8800GT pretty cheap, they are pretty much the same as 9800GT
You can also check www.geeks.com they sell a lot of refurbished stuff, most of it is a rip off but every now and again you can find a good deal.|||http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002Q5 ... 09ZK9BZJQ6

i think these are the winners keep in mind im only looking for something cheap that will last 2-3 years at that point ill be able to work|||The CPU looks pretty good, and the GPU is decent. Not bad at all.|||X-Cubed|||Personally, I'd go for the better 9600GT, but if your budget is low, the 9500 is a decent choice. Also, you have made sure that your motherboard has an AM3 socket for the processor, right?|||X-Cubed|||Changing a processor is alot more complicated than just buying it...
To change your CPU you may have to change:
- Your motherboard
- New RAM if the old ones are not compatible with the new motherboard
- Electric alimentation because a better processor means more electricity consumption
To know the model if your motherboard just go to dxdiag (by going to the task manager -> new task -> write dxdiag) and see the 6th line.|||think ima just try to build a new computer for around 500$

so um how do i tell if things will fit in said case the dimensions confuse me?
will this work for at least 2 years?
edit:will buy more fans for the case
